Obstetrics and Gynecology is a medical specialty that encompasses two main areas firstly obstetrics which focuses on the care of women during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period, secondly gynecology, which deals with the diagnosis and treatment of disorders affecting the female reproductive system. This specialty involves monitoring pregnancy, performing deliveries, addressing issues like pregnancy complications, miscarriage, and reproductive system abnormalities, as well as treating conditions such as ovarian cysts and fibroids. OB-GYN also provides advice on family planning and sexual health.
